Are you open to a new life? As I think about spring being a few days away, new life comes to mind.
When I was growing up, the girls in our family had to take music lessons. We were not asked if we wanted to or not. Our parents insisted that we do so. I never really took to playing the piano, I’d much rather sing and act and my music teacher expanded my curriculum so that I could do both. What I learned from the performing arts was that it takes time to develop into a mature artist. When I would first be given a piano piece to play or an aria to sing, I would study just a few measures at a time. After taking small steps one set of measures at a time, eventually the piece would come together and sound like a composer wrote it.
Our spiritual growth happens much that way. Just as a plant does not become a rose overnight, but over time, trust that God is establishing our spiritual roots and in time the full fruit of this season will come forward.
This week I ask you to take the time to pay attention to the positive changes and signs of growth in your life.
In what ways do you see new life springing forth in you?
